January board recap

The AEA 267 Board met January 5, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Cedar Falls Conference Center for their regular meeting.

During the meeting, the board:

  • Heard a review by Dr. Mary Stevens on the AEA Taskforce committee recommendations that have been submitted to the legislators. (See related story.)
  • Accepted with regret the resignation of Connie Furlong, Teacher of Early Childhood Special Education (Castle Hill), effective December 19, 2010.
  • Motioned to hire Julia Trembath-Neuberger, Special Education Coordinator (Sector 1).
  • Heard and accepted the 2009-2010 Audit Report from Dennis Muyskens, Hogan-Hanson auditor.
  • Approved the 2011-2012 proposed budget for publication.
  • Approved the second reading of the following Board Policies:

401.27 – Employee Use of Cell Phones
401.27R1 – Employee Use of Cell Phones Administrative Regulation and Procedures
401.28 – Intellectual Property
401.29 – Employee Conflict of Interest
405.11 – Family and Medical Leave Act
603.9 – Credit Cards
603.9R1 – Credit Cards Administrative Regulation

  • Approved the 2011 Extended School Year Calendar.
  • Approved the 2011-2012 Office Calendar.
  • Approved the renewal of the Memorandums of Agreement between: 1.) NIACC and AEA 267; 2.) Tri-County Child and Family Development Council, Inc.; 3.) AEA 267 North Iowa Community Action and AEA 267; 4.) Mid-Iowa Community Action, Inc. for Early Childhood Programs and AEA 267.
  • Heard a variety of reports from directors and fellow board members.
