Deb McGowan, AEA 267 Program Specialist, died of a sudden illness on February 24. Deb was a 17-year veteran of the Area Education Agency system and was deeply respected and well liked by her co-workers. Deb treasured her family, especially her grandchildren, friends, singing, scrap booking, and following Iowa Hawkeye basketball and football. Support and sympathy are extended to her family, friends and co-workers.

I am so glad to see this staff honorarium posted. Deb was a wonderful person and a special asset to the AEA. She will be missed! Much in the same way as previous staff like Rene Tripp and Karen Wente are. I hope you will continue to honor all of our staff in this way. It serves as an admirable tribute to their work.

I have worked with Deb for the past 9 years and yes she will be missed more than I can mention.
I for one would really like to thank all of the people that have helped us put one foot in front of the other and continue the way Deb would have wanted us to.
AEA 267 has a fantastic Crisis Managment team on staff and they need to know how much they helped us get thru the first few days. So thank you to Belinda Blackburn and Dawn Jaeger for the time that they spent and the support that they so wonderfully gave.
