Each year, the Human Resources office calculates the average annual sick leave usage for the agency. The purpose of the calculation is simply to serve as a benchmark that staff can use to gauge whether their usage is on par with the average of other staff members. The average usage for this past year was 5.53 days. The calculation includes sick leave for doctor/dentist appointments as well as regular sick time used.
